The International Space Station, just spent a lovely 5 minutes watching the ISS going overhead here in south east Queensland. What a wonderful sight.
For those who don't know you can sign up here to get email notification when it's overhead in your location

I looked outside but only saw overcast and as it was 13ºC and falling, I quickly came back inside.

(Canadians are wetting their pants laughing. 13ºC? Anyone for a barbie or a game of tennis?)

I use the free ISS detector app on my iPhone. It gives the time, direction, duration and elevation too. It also tells you when the Chinese one, Tiangong 2k is coming over as well as planet locations etc.

I like tuning in to NASA TV when the astronauts are doing EVA, not least because they're usually wearing Speedies. 🍿

Really cool, had no idea that the ISS was visible with the naked eye. I read somewhere last week that they will be starting next year or 2020 to open it up for tourists.

😁

I was internet chatting with a friend a couple of years ago. She lives at 100 Mile House and mentioned that they were going out for the day, but it dropped to -30º, so they decided to stay home.

Australia would come to a complete standstill at that level.

What struck me the most when we were down under in January was how much everyone complained about the heat. Yes it was hot (we were in Adelaide when they set the new 46.6 C record) but in SA and Vic it’s a dry heat, so very tolerable compared to the humidity we have here most summers.

We loved it.

I spent my childhood 250 kilometres North of Adelaide and in Summer, 35º was normal, 40º was warm. As you said, no humidity so your perspiration did the job and kept the body cool.

Cosmonauts do... not NASA Astronauts.

I see bar patios open up in the spring if it's 10 or 11 C and it's a sunny day.

Yesterday I awoke to several centimetres of snow covering my tent at the 4200 ft level about 100 kilometres north of Whistler, BC. Somewhat surprising since it was 31 Celsius a few days earlier. Ahhh, summer in Canada!

Explore.org has ISS cams that show the station itself as well as a shot of Earth from the ISS.

12/13 Celcius is my dividing line for longs or shorts when going out on a bicycle. Can take shorts down to 8C on the way home after a decent warm-up.

But gloves always -- once you've had gravel-rash palms you don't want to have it again.

No, to be more accurate, summer in the Rockies...Calgary is the only city in Canada that has had snow in every month of the year...Edmonton and Winnipeg have 2 seasons: Winter and Mosquitos (yes, I have lived in all three!)
