Isn’t a Datejust pretty much perfect?

The four digits are great, but I'm addicted to the quickset date. What I love about these is how wildly different the aesthetics can be in exactly the same movement and case. Here are my two examples, about as opposite as two DJs can be...

The Decameron. Saucy stuff, yet under the radar like the DJ. Well done.

I still don't find it perfect...

But I now have one 😗

Black service hands were mounted at the request of the previous owner. (can't really tell the time with white shiny hands)

Well that very much depends upon you definition of perfection……my perfection must definitely be different from yours…..nothing wrong with that, if we were all the same we’d bore each other shitless!
For me the biggest turnoff is the brand, and all the absolute bollocks it carries as baggage…..the watch itself is nice enough, but it doesn’t give me a stiffy either

Very nice, but I like engagement via bezel or chronograph functionality.

I was strongly considering a modern datejust, but just wish the lume on the hands was a bit better.

My 34-year old Rolex Oyster Date-Just. Perfect? I have numerous other watches that might deserve that distinction, as well. But this is the one I’m wearing, tooday.

I am partial to 4 and 5 digit Datejusts too. I prefer 36mm for comfort. A great classic watch. The trick is finding the ones that have not been badly or over polished.

Hopefully I don't get grilled as it's not a DJ, but it's a damn good watch nonetheless. 34mm doesn't wear as small as I had anticipated...glad I pulled the trigger.

Nice Buckley. Doesn't appear to have any decay that those blue dials are prone to. Now just gotta source the white baton hands for it !

As reported elsewhere. My 34-year old Date-Just appears earlier in this thread. Returned to service March 11 (37 days ago), and worn 24/7 since then. It has neither run down nor has it been re-set. It has been up to 3 seconds slow, and two seconds fast over the 37 days, but this morning, it is DEAD ON! Perfect in every way, but especially as a time keeper.

Silver hands (or gold hands) are fine for 160x.

Didn't say they weren't. Just prefer the look of the matching handset.

These hands are correct for the 1603. The white hands are typical to the 16030 variant 🍻
