That notwithstanding: if we are really being honest with ourselves, is a voracious watch-collecting habit mere sublimated, unfulfilled sexual desires? Or putting it more bluntly, is our motivation for the chase and conquest of that special piece a socially acceptable way to keep us from chasing tail?

1) "I've been happily married for (fill in blank) years, and my wife and I are still like teenagers, so no, this is not the case with me. I collect watches for the pure joy of it." Let me just say, us other married guys are so happy for you...
