    Hey Danny,

Yes it's legit...dial looks origional, has original crown and case looks OK. At its current price it's a good buy.

Cheers Hijak, I think it will go up for around £500, still a good buy at that price do you think? Been told its a '62/'63, getting a picture of the movement tonight

That's excellent, getting pic of movement, and I think at GBP 500 you are good. These SM De Ville watches came out in 1963 and they ended around 67/68 (I believe) when they stated just using the De Ville name alone. This narrows the date down for you a little but the movement shot with the serial number will tell us more.

Second one certainly has better pictures but I think the first one has a better condition and more interesting dial (Interesting part just my opinion, you may feel differently) while the second one may have a slightly better condition case. The first watch with it's subpar pictures makes it harder to tell the condition of the case. The other main difference is the movements, the first one is an automatic while the second one is a hand wound. Both watches are legitimate I'd keep an eye on both and see where they end up money wise. Good luck!

I have got a pic of the movement now. It's a 562. Pics are in the eBay link in the first post. Any thoughts? Thanks for your help! Hopefully should have a nice watch at the end of it!!

Movement looks clean and from the serial # dates to ~1964. Price is still reasonable with only one day to go...just one thing and I'm nit picking a little here, I would have liked to see the inside of the case. But based on the condition of what can be seen a nice watch overall still at a reasonable price. Good luck...
