I own this watch and I would like to have some opinions on its authenticity.
The case back has 166.001 as a reference number but it lacks the famous seamaster logo, is it possible?
It's a caliber 562 and the serial number is between 21 and 22 millions.
It's my first vintage watch and I bought it off ebay from a guy in Germany.
What I know from the seller is that the buckle is aftermarket.

    Thank you very much!

From the serial number I found that it could be dated 1964 (± 2 years).
Is there any way to get a more accurate date:
like intersecting serial number, reference number and caliber?
I asked an omega local store if they could give me any information if I gave them the serial number, but they couldn't help.

You could order and extract from the archives from omega, but not sure its worth it in this case ( not sure what you paid for the watch, but guess it could be a significant % of the watches cost)

Personally not sure that the buckle is aftermarket, but other experts will chime in here to confirm

Ps i have extracts either side of your serial number

18.2 mln dating to jan 1962 production and
24.5 mln dating to march 1966 production

So suggest a late 1963/ early 1964 date for your watch is going to be pretty accurate

Wow, didn't know about that service!

@Sherbie Yeah it's a significant % of the watch cost, but I'd like to dig into it.
I think I will opt for an extract in the future...

Regarding the buckle I've seen a similar one in another post and some said it could be fake,
    but not sure still.
