Hello, Found this online and was wondering if you guys think it would be a good buy for my new collection. Its a tudor Submariner that is being sold because a watchmaker messed up and over polished it (I think). I realize its probably not going to be considered collectable, but at this price I may consider. Going price is 2k. Is this fair? Sorry for the bad pictures. Thanks in advance.
insert is replacement i think. Markers look okay, should put under UV to check if its relumed. 2000 USD? I think its worth a shot. it should write 7928 between the lugs. Lugs still look fat too.
I was just told that it was relumed. Seller says bezel is all original, but that bezel dot looks suspiciously white to me. I don't really know what to think...
Wrong movement, off the bat. For 7928, it should be Tudor cal. 390, the brother of the Rolex cal. 1030. The dial, I can't tell much from the fuzzy pics, but chances are it's a redial, to put it charitably. And I'll just stop here...
Looks all around pretty odd to me. These 7928's are very commonly franken'd. The parts are not that expensive.....you can toss in a tudor movement and whala....you have a 7928. I think that is one of the reasons that they trade cheaper than they should due to all the well known issues out there. Stick with a popular seller with a return policy of you are to buy. Just my 2 cents.
