I don't know how tough it is to get empty cosmic cases but it seems damned hard to find an Omega Cosmic with an unrestored dial. I'm wondering if maybe it's not a bad idea to grab this one for a rainy day.... cheers, http://www.ebay.com/itm/VINTAGE-OME...086650261?pt=Wristwatches&hash=item232d775395Purchases made through these links may earn this site a commission from the eBay Partner Network
what is going on with the minute hand? bent? did the hands have space for lume? i haven't seen a TDMP dial with lume. The dial says "fab suisse" . I've never seen the "fab suise" in such small lettering - usually when that is on the dial it is a lot more prominent to comply with french rules. also, I would have expected to have also seen fab suisse on the movement? i'm also not a fan of the minute track. the 15minute doesn't line up with the 3 o'clock, ditto at 30 minutes....
I assumed that the hands were unoriginal and just stuck on. It's the rest of your criticism about that dial which really disturbs me. Thanks!
Dial is original and hands look original too. It likely belongs though to a solid gold case so the movement at least does not belong in a stainless steel case.
No opinion about the originality of the hands, but they could be bent back into shape--looks like some ham just grabbed the middle of the hand with some tweezers. Though your lume will fall out and they'll then have to be re-lumed or cleaned out and left empty.
OK, got it. What do you think of this one in terms of originality? https://www.chrono24.com/en/omega/s...=Search&tab=pics&urlSubpath=/search/index.htm
yeah, that site is usually a bit pricey but...I so rarely find cosmics with decent original dials. I'm looking for a really pretty, original ss Cosmic. Is there any particular place you can think of?
