14k solid gold de ville. I'm waiting to recieve pictures of the movement from the seller. I'm assuming the dial was redone at one point, as black dial De ville's are extremely rare. The asking price is $1500 OBO. I really like this particular watch and the way the dial has aged. what would be a good price to offer on this? If you guys don't see any red flags.
I would recommend you have the seller show a picture of the movement. I often wonder that someone offering a “weathered”, highly polished watch that doesn’t provide all possible information, is hiding something! And $1!500 for a common watch? Really?
Heavily polished case, particularly the lugs. Dial is just plain ugly to me. Ugly dial, over-polished case, $1500, ridiculous.
The seller is just hyping the damaged dial, hoping that someone will think it's special. But I also don't find it appealing. Amazing tropical meteorite ... give me a break.
$1500 is too damn high, by about 50-75%. I personally don't mind the dial condition, it's certainly more readable and attractive than some other "patina monsters" that I've seen hyped. But that's all in the eye of the beholder and it also depends on what it looks like in real life.
Usually i like the black dials very much, i also like that one but yes the price it's way to high..my advise keep looking.
