I am a new member and new into the world of watches. I find vintage watches to have much more character than modern day watches.

I was wondering if anybody would able to see if this watch is worth buying. ~650 CAD

Good morning, It looks authentic to me but I'm afraid I'd be hesitant to spend that much on this watch which will certainly need a servicing at additional investment... This is just my opinion, I'm sure others will chime in fairly soon and give their assessments.
    Best wishes

We'd need much better photos, especially of the inside case back to be of more help

Thank you for your help. I am a young guy looking for his first vintage watch and don't want to get burned.

How much could servicing be? If it is off by 1min a day I think that could be fine, what kind of servicing would I typically expect?

The movement dates back to ~1947/8, which if I recall correctly is when the first Seamaster models were produced. I believe the dial on this watch is from a newer model. A clearer photo of the inside of the case back will allow members to better assess what’s going on.

It's a franken watch. Movement was made at least 15 years earlier than dial.

It is not a Seamaster, and is later than movement and redialed.

As noted by No Mercy, it's not a Seamaster and it never was since this is not a waterproof case, a requirement for a Seamaster.

Time keeping is not a particularly good indicator as to whether a movement needs a service, even a dry dirty movement is capable of keeping good time. A proper service would be $150-200 US plus parts if necessary.

Proper service $200? Good luck with that. Most will pay a lot more.
