    Hi all,

My partner just came in possession of an Omega Geneve and we are wondering if it is original. We already know the leather strap is not original :)

I went to a local watchmaker to have it open (forgot to take a picture!) and there was the omega branding on the movement and a serial number so it looked pretty original. Also, there was the omega logo inside the triangular shape on the back of the case. I'm not sure it was fake it would have that but I am curious to know more from you guys.

For some reason I left the watchmaker with two references written down: 136.041 and 535.014

It is a very small case size ladies watch. What do you guys think?

Omega shared case backs with different models, that's why there are 2 references on the back.
Omega pursued some odd colour schemes in this era. Usually dial colours. I've not seen one like this, but I'm thinking it's original.
The ref numbers on the back don't designate dial. There were often a lot of dial variations within the one reference.

You can google "omega xxxx.xxx" (reference number) see what info pops up.

In addition to the info by @michael22, my vote is yes, completely original (ignoring strap).

Thanks a lot guys! What do you think about the movement issue? Is it possible to find a fake of this model in which the movement looks very much like the original one with branding etc? Or does that indicate that there's a good chance that it's original?
I'm thinking for a fake of this kind they wouldn't bother too much with reproducing a movement, but that's only my uneducated assumption.

Did you make a note of the serial number when the watchmaker opened the back? If so, it should have 8 digits and be somewhere between a high 20million and a high 30 million number probably. That would put it in the 1970’s date wise, and almost certainly genuine.

These were also offered in a men's size, the colors were blue, green and red.

    This one looks quite original.

Update: I went to the Omega boutique in London and the watchmaker checked it. It is all original!

It’ll be a 535.041 (535 is for a women’s watch). Your earlier post was a typo. That is the women’s size 041 Geneve. They did do a colour scheme like that. It’ll be circa 1970.

Here’s the men’s version (belongs to my dad). Still not huge by modern standards, but I like it a lot.
