I’m just speculatin' about a hypothesis. I know I don't know nothin but this looks suspicious to me. Please educate me https://www.ebay.de/itm/OMEGA-VINTA...=item2ac1df92b3:g:8y0AAOSw2hxcQRYv:rk:32:pf:0Purchases made through these links may earn this site a commission from the eBay Partner Network
It's just an American cased Omega (as indicated by the OXG import stamp on the movement). Cases were made for Norman Morris Corp by US casemakers. In this case , by Jonell Watch Case Inc of Long Island City, NY.
Great to know. Looked up the PX # and couldn’t find info about it. Thanks. I thought someone would pick up the movie quote as well
The dial has been redone, though the case is legit as others have noted. The case is indeed a Jonell case though it was likely made in Canada: https://omegaforums.net/threads/wer...cal-shops-during-the-1950s.72576/#post-919887
I hypothesize that it was only the company's tag line – "What the hell? Oh, it's a Jonell!" – that kept them from becoming the American Gay Freres.
