Seamaster cal 1012 ref 1660173 (google pics) from early to mid 70's. looks to be ok and all original to my eyes. These are pretty common watches and possibly not worth throwing huge amounts of cash at... though they are increasing in price. The black dial looks good but I have concerns with the case...look at the asymmetry and 8 o'clock and the rounded lugs..it's had a long spell on the polishing wheel .....There are also signs of rotor rub on the movement. Not deal breakers but don't go paying top dollar...Others will know more...
In pristine condition I've seen these go for a surprising 500-700 pounds. they do wear big and the 1012 movement does have a few friends. Prices have been going nuts lately...last year this would have fetched around 180-240 .. with 3 days to go and enough unique bdders I expect it'll realise somewhere around 350- 400..but I don't think it's worth that. I'd go hunting for a Seamaster Cosmic instead....
I thought the case back was wrong too, but checked out the ref on google pics and was surprised to see quite a few with this large logo (de ville?) bearing Seamaster on the dial..... polished to death yes. Dial? Not certain.....but as always I defer to those wiser...
Is this a better option? I don't want to spend huge amounts for my first omega just want to start myself off https://rover.ebay.com/rover/0/0/0?mpre=https://www.ebay.co.uk/ulk/itm/183565132460
