This watch seems to be a little bit of a hot mess. But, I am curious about the bezel. Is it authentic?

IMO no, the tachymetre font is wrong, numbers too shiny, number font & placement wrong, doesn't have the mat finish of legitimate examples. It would be a shorter list of things that are correct (it's round maybe?)
This seller really is best avoided

 

Personally, I've never seen one with these particular fonts. Looks suspicious to me. If you look at the pics it looks like it was shaved down to the numbers on the inside portion of the bezel.
There is actually a few other issues with this watch. The dial has certainly been relumed as well, the chrono hand was basically destroyed while the watch was tampered with and who knows what else. The seller's rep isn't stellar either.

I think we should all chip in and buy this travesty so that it stop popping up on ebay, and threads stop on the forums.

This watch has been sold about 20 times thus far I believe...makes no sense

That bezel insert is what you receive from the eBay seller 'wholesaleoutlet990' (also same seller is 'ewatchparts') when you order the insert which looks correct for the '70s 145.022. The illustrated insert from this seller is of a genuine item but this pathetic fake is what will be supplied. It is also too small on the outer and inner diameter.

 

Before I even opened the link, I knew exactly what watch/auction I would see.

Pretty much everything is fake. Bezel, dial, case. Rubbish.

I came across that too and moved along.
Several negative comments posted against the seller, whereby the buyers have complained of receiving fake watches.

As a point out - there has never been a dot below 70, dot over 90 bezel produced. Garbage fake.

 

To add insult to injury... brand is listed as Rolex in item specifics

 

It does appear to have a real crystal though...
