$3000 for this? Could it be anything but? https://www.ebay.com/itm/OMEGA-Spee...tch-3594-50-Manual-Wind-black-SS/274309518905Purchases made through these links may earn this site a commission from the eBay Partner Network
Not clear from the pictures on ebay, could just be a reflection? Although I'd be worried about water intrusion in any case, given the extent of corrosion to the hands on what is a relatively young watch...
Although I'm not totally clear what you're thinking about the price from this comment. The 3594.50 is a pretty unloved version of the speedmaster and tends to go relatively cheap. I did alright with this one last year and it was a lot cheaper than 3k USD.
I do not think that this is condensation or moisture intrusion. As I understand it, some of this reference, the Speedmaster Professional 3594.50, had handsets that corroded at unusually rapid rates. I'm not sure if there's a thread here, but I've definitely read that before, and seen it, not as extremely as this, on others in the past. As mentioned above $3K seems a bit high for that example. I am just grateful that I've never encountered that issue with mine...
Well, I stand by what I shared regarding the hands on 3594.50’s with corrosion, but I went and looked at the pics in the eBay listing itself and it sure does look like there could be some moisture in there. It’s really strange, can’t see it from all angles, so it’s tough to know what we’re looking at with this example...?
It's too clear and defined on the glass to be condensation. Looks like glare, combined with the reflection of his camera which is apparently a giant black umbrella. But yeah, the hands have Corona. I'd avoid.
I also think it’s a reflection — the central dark spot looks like a macro lens with a hood. Really bad photography there. And I would also be worried about the pitting on the hands. This watch has likely had water damage in the past, and with no movement picture, who knows what the movement looks like. The current price is too high considering the multiple red flags, IMO.
