I didn't think it was a Constellation because of that. But is it another Omega?

Somebody took a bumper caliber 353 or 355 with it's dial out of a Seamaster 2627 or 2757 case, refinished the dial to say Constellation, and stuffed it inside a 50's Constellation case. We call this a frankenwatch and this one is a total abomination.

Surely this 'masterpiece' will readily qualify to be displayed at the Omega Franken & Dracula Watches Museum!

    Thank-you.

Desmond had a few "greatest hits" on his site. I bet he'd get a chuckle out of this.

Only those with a numb skull would create such a monster.

    Thank-you.

I don't know - they might be pretty slick. If there's money to be made (and there is in vintage Omega) than the game players will try to get over. This seller obviously was smart enough to know that a Constellation has more value than a Seamaster and he hoped to dupe some unsuspecting n00b.

On the upside, there's a tiny bit of money in the parts still.

Indeed, there is money to be made out of vintage Omega watches but duping an unsuspecting potential lover into buying a frankenwatch, is a crime that cannot be forgiven.

    Thank-you.

The loss of some money will soon be forgotten. However, the feeling of having been duped or cheated into buying a franken will remain for some while in the victim's mind. Hopefully, he will not be discouraged and give up vintage-watch collecting, altogether.

    Thank-you.

The seller was up front about it being a Frankenwatch and I'm in it cheap. I just didn't know if it really had a Seamaster movement or the ages of the case and movement. He was even honest about telling me it was a Seamaster movement. It's not collectible but you guys are forgetting as a basic watch its a fine one for less than $100. I've had it for several years and wear it off and on and it keeps good time (better than my Rolex) and has never caused a problem until I over wound it after it sat for awhile instead of putting it on and waiting patiently for it to wind itself. It's just been serviced (obviously not by Omega) but someone I trust. It's a fine watch just not collectible nor sale-able as a Constellation. It's a great watch if all you're looking for is something to keep good time. /rant off.

Less than $100? S::censored::, you'd get you money back on parts alone then. As long as the seller was honest like you said and you're good with it, then it's all good.

BTW, nice one slipping in the MIB line. Movie quotes are a must on any forum. I almost replied at first with "There's a pool, and a pond. The pond would be good for that watch." :p

I've watched that movie so many times I know most of it by heart. Like the first Shrek. Glad someone picked up on it! LOL. What caliper is the movement on this watch? Omega movement.jpg
