Hi guys I am still kind of new at this and I was looking at this seamaster and I can't tell if it is a redial. It seems to have some patina on it indicating age but the S in Seamaster doesn't seam as hooked as it should be (maybe i'm wrong). The dot marker at 6 also seem to be mis-aligned it looks to far to the right to me but that might just be the angle. Are these accurate assumptions for this watch or am I imagining things.
Yes you have accurate assumptions. This has been very poorly redialed. The font looks very inconsistent. If this is a 50's watch the font should look clear and like this:
Nice enough case, with what looks to be correct hands and crown but the dial has been badly refinished. You only have to look at the Omega and the A in particular. I would avoid this one!
That's the infamous Seanaster! I posted that one in the "Worst Redials" thread a few months ago. Do you see how the idiot spelled that?
Yes, that is the very same: The seller who posted that picture described it this way: "The silver-tone dial is an older refinish. It is lightly speckled but remains attractive overall - see photos."
Haha that's a terrible re-dial indeed! On the first post they hid the "Seanaster" below the seconds hand. This one is so bad it's funny!
