I think it’s fair to wonder about it, considering it’s quality doesn’t seem to match earlier references, but the quality just seems to have declined in that time. I am amazed by my 1967 Seamaster, but the early-mid 70s Seamasters I’ve handled sometimes look like fakes in comparison, especially the quartz ones. I guess it’s probably true of many Swiss companies of that time.
