Hello, i'm planning on buying a vintage seamaster 30 with a black dial. Found this one online, i have NOT bought it yet and was wondering if anyone can tell from the pictures if it is real or fake. The quality of the pictures are rough and a picture of the movement is missing. According to the seller it's supposed to be a OMEGA SEAMASTER 30, 34,5 mm , CAL 286 , Ref 19541149 ca 1962, Case: 135.003-62-SC. Overall the seller seems to have a good rating. I have asked for a photo of the movement but haven't received anything. Also asked for service history but no reply yet. It's working and keeping time well according to the seller.

From the photos it looks legit but always difficult to say if the dial has been refinished without clear photos. Perhaps a blemish in the dial at the bottom from 5 to 8.30 but also hard to tell. Caseback has been molested a bit and seems polished a bit unevenly. I would want better photos.

What is the seller asking?

Thanks for the reply. It's currently on auction at around 250€. Ends in 1.5 hours. How much is worth spending on it?

Spending anything on those photos requires a big leap of faith.

It’s a gamble as every online auction is to a different degree. €250 euro would be a very good price, if the dial is in good condition and the blemish at the bottom is a reflection in the crystal and the movement is alright etc. I am a little put off by the caseback also. Plenty of people would jump on it at €250 though I imagine.

A good condition one would probably command around €600-€800 I imagine. Perhaps a little more since the black dials are a little rarer.
