Hi,

New to the forums and don't know much about spotting real from fake.

I have a relative abroad who wants to send me a watch to sell for him, now to save my self any embarrassment I'm not sure if the watch is genuine.

Wondering if anyone can help? I'll add the pictures below;

..but you appear to have internet access for research. My assumption about your "request" is nothing that I'd post here, even though I never try to be overpolite..

Lol. I did try to research online but couldn't find anything relevant. When you assume you make an ass out of yourself, it's an omega forum hence why I asked.

To say you "did try to research online" speaks for itself and frankly, doesn't make an ass [sic] out of me.

 

The newbie is "new" and Google will only go so far. Be nice.

 

I am. Probably just a pawlov reflex to key words like: inherited, found, gift, family, friend, real, fake, sale.

 

I guess being an "expert" gives you the right to be rude! Of the multitude of potential sources for information on watches that are or might be Omega that exist, it makes sense a noob might eventually find their way here. Let's hope the OP didn't get flip answers anywhere else that they checked.

 

Ooops! None of it applies. And the OP post shows a well known pattern as far as I am allowed to assume. And I didn't say ass. I'm quite shure though he will survive my ruthless attack and enjoy being here long term.

Trust me it's fake for a multitude of reasons. The hands are wrong. The running seconds is the left sub dial. The bezel and hour markers.

Oh Omega never made a watch that looks like this

 

I believe the male carries the babies! Does this happen anywhere else in the animal kingdom?

 

Fascinating switch! I learned about this on my sons animated show called Octonauts.

 

Also, the Michael Schumacher Speedy did not look like that, if I recall correctly.

 

Back to the drawing boards for the "relative". And to think, they would have gotten away with it too, if it weren't for those meddling OF kids!
