Is this '58 "NOS" Seamaster package legit?

As I continue to educate myself, the concept of 'NOS' has emerged as one that's extremely fraught and, in the absence of a real relationship and history, generally not to be trusted. That said, what do we think of this?

It definitely falls into the "too good to be true" category in terms of looks. And I have no authoritative frame of reference for the pricing. So I'd love to hear what more experienced collectors here think, if folks are willing.

Fully serviced means its not NOS by definition. It does look to me nice but would you actually wear or keep it in the safe?

The seller says,

" Unfortunately, the booklet is missing the back page with the original information which is quite common as the original owner may have wanted to keep his information private."

I interpret that as,

"Unfortunately, the booklet is missing the back page with the original information which is quite common when a seller wants to present a watch as being a full set, box and papers."

I agree the watch does presents nicely ....but the price is simply delusional 😵‍💫

Priced at around 3x what it is worth. Very decent condition but not remotely NOS and not a full set. Delusional asking price indeed.

Everyone here who is slagging the price - did you see that it comes with "fresh, new oil"?? Not that tired old stuff watchmakers usually put in... Goes to explain the premium.

I nearly bought it but for the lack of paperwork

That’s a pretty questionable use of the acronym NOS when the description makes it clear it isn’t NOS. While it may not be a purposefully deception it makes me wonder about any other claims this seller would make about their watches.

Watch collecting, like every industry or pursuit, has become infiltrated by buzz words that are applied and misapplied to the point where they’re becoming nearly meaningless.

Heaven help you if you’re in the financial industry...

Once you start wearing it, price will take a 70% hit. Cause no longer NOS and you will definitely scratch it after a while....

So, not worth it imho.
