I'm curious to get an experts take on this. Are the dial and hands original? If it would need a service, how much would it cost. Lastly, is $500 a fair price?

I'm not even going to spend time on the accuracy of the print on the chapter ring. I can't get past the Universal Geneve print. universal (2).jpg

Ah I see. Just found an original dial and it's obvious immediately.

Even with a genuine dial I'd say $500 is well over. A bit of patience and a willingness to buy from places like Italy and France should bring one of those home for quite a bit less.

I would say that by the time you have acquired and serviced you are a tad North of $500. These are lovely sport models, wear bigger than their size and well worth having in your collection. This one is a pass as dial is worked on and I think the crown may be wrong as well. One with military registration hammered at $305 recently on the bay But it was gonna need an overhaul.

I stumbled across this today in one of my box-o-watches. 263 Movement :)
Can you say: tired..............or...........moisture? Still runs.

It lived better times; too much tired and too much moisture. You can find something better

Find a dial ... that case and the hands are nice.

Did that style/design exist in the 30's? I would love to have one for my birth year - 1936.
