    Hello,
This is my first post in this forum so please excuse my lack of knowledge.
However I do have a speedmaster professional ref 145.0022 which I love, and a Genève which I love a bit less.
I post in the hopes that knowledgeable members here can let me know if this 14755-1 is a frankenwatch or even a fake. What I can tell so far :
    - The dial has been very badly redone or is a fake. The 10 and 11 markers are awfully relumed. Also the 9, 3 and 6 markers are nowhere to be seen, which might mean it's fake, or from an entirely different reference
    - At first glance, the hands seem to be off, as usually SMP 300 will have the arrow hands. A bit more research let me know that these baton hands have been used in 1961 and 1962 models but I'm not certain
    - The movement, and case seem to be original and not too badly over polished.

What is your opinion? Fake, frankenwatch? Knowing that the dial has to be changed and possibly the movement serviced, how much is a good investment in this (if not fake if course).

    Thank you very much!

You are correct, things are not kosher. Hands wrong, dial wrong, lume a mess.
At least it looks like the right movement. A correct dial and hands would not be easy to find.

He said his BIN for it was 3k, I thought he was pulling my leg but it appears he knew better than I!

Lol I did not knew about the BIN, but as vintage is a minefield I hold back on bidding. I know nothing about this particular model but it looked cool at first but for some reason my novice mind when it comes to this sort a thing said, something is off.

If it however does turns out to be a real piece I would love to have the experts come in and educate!

It may have the correct 552 movement but until an Omega Extract is pulled for it I wouldn't price in that it is the correct 552 that originally came with that 14755 case, in fact I'd have priced it out. If the dial and hands were in such a state that it needed re-dialing and the hands replacing then there is a substantial probability that the movement was toast too. Don't forget a 552 movement can be picked up loose for a couple hundred euros. Those hands look like they could have come from a SM120 166.027 or something like that.

    Here's what a 14755-1 should look like.
The seller Purchases made through these links may earn this site a commission from the eBay Partner Networkstates serial 162x, which would be way to early for a 14755.
To me it does look like a 182x in his bad pictures. If so, that would be correct for a 14755-1.
I had two -1's and both in the 182x range.

Never the less, a lot of money. Try and find a 14755 dial, and if you can, you will realise that you should have sourced an example WITH proper parts in the first place. Hands are not a problem, but dials and original bezel inserts - forget about it.
