That would allow you to add "X" to a normal Speedmaster if it was a brownie?
I find it hard to price these, should we double or treble the price of a normal example?

    Any clarity out there?

Also its a good excuse to post your examples below:

    hey watchlovr,

i think the difficulty is that opinions of the attractiveness of a brown dial vary. What you may think is ugly might be gorgeous to me. Some even think of browning as degradation and thereby worth less than a nice black dial.

I think it would be very hard to make a formula.. even among brown dials, some are nice and some are not... so many variables.

Got a pic of one you like?

    Agreed.
    Very difficult.

The recommended guide is that you:
    1) call your Speedie "tropical" and
    2) price it at any astronomical amount you want.

Yup, I've seen that one from Boston, another one of the reasons I asked. I don't rate it at the asking price but don't think the price is unachievable for the right brown 145.022-69.
Joshua (the business owner) is a keen vintage Omega collector, I've sold him a coupe of pieces (but not this one!)

The problem is there is no real answer, some "tropicals" look amazing, others look like junk. This will greatly affect price. Many have horrible hands or replacement hands due to the heavy aging influence, others have perfect patinas to match the brown patina on the dial.
