Hi I bought this omega 1445 many years ago.
I have the original box and manual.
I took it to a pant bank and they said the bezel was 18 carat gold. But I can’t find a stamp anywhere. Is anybody able to help. Is selling at auction today and someone asked me to photo the stamp?

There is no stamp. In many countries it is not legal to hallmark an item where only part of it is gold or other precious metal. AFAIK yes the gold parts on those are indeed solid gold but we are talking a gram or 3 at most so it doesn't make sense to consider parting it out for the gold. The rest is stainless steel. It sounds like the buyer is messing you about to be honest, but if you have made a big deal about the gold components being solid that was perhaps a mistake as there is no easy way to prove it.

ps I am almost scared to ask what a 'pant bank' actually is !!!!

pps 1445 is the movement (calibre) number, not a ref for the watch itself.

Thank you so much
(Pantbank is a pawn shop)
I’m selling it today on an auction site in Sweden. So I wanted to be able to answer a question from a potential buyer.

I guess by solid gold you mean 18 carat gold (75% gold) solid gold would be 24 carat

Well yes solid as in not plated, capped or filled. No as you say they would never use 24K, usually these days it is 18K but in the past Omega have used 14K and indeed even today offer 9K gold pieces.

18K gold can be solid, just not pure!

If the watch is authentic (and it appears to be), there's no reason for a buyer to nitpick you with additional questions. Just ignore them.

I've never used that like flag before Dan, I'm not suggesting you are piratical but I like the Yarrr label it has when you hover on it!!
