As the highest bidder has plenty of information about vintage Omegas... I guess this one must be very interesting.
BUT second hand is short (a MKII?), minute and hour hands are weird, dial repainted, replacement bezel, engraved case back, movement looks like 26544XXX,... so many issues.. How high will it go ?

I am thinking of sourcing a white hand, painting it orange and having an ultraman...

Serial number seems too high to be an ultraman.

I take a lot of convincing any time someone tells me a watch is an ultraman, simply because it ain't hard to make one at all. This has so many issues even before you get to the "is it a real ultraman" that I'd not touch it.

I agreee, but why somebody who's working for the Omega museum is bidding on it?
Does he know more than we do?

Or you could just source the orange hand - they are readily available...

Good idea but do you really think that is all of the story....
The color and the measurements of the red hand from the ultraman are unique, so its not just to buy a red hand from a MKII or any other Omega. To have a "true" ultraman you also should have the right extract from the archive, like the presented one on the fratello article.

I just got an extract for mine and Omega didn't put anything in the comments. I think you have to know someone in Switzerland to get that...anyways the example in this auction is appalling

or maybe you have to send the watch to Omega, so they have the chance to see your ultraman live and can approve it is a "real" one.

Back to the one on the auction. Currently highest bid is CHF2800.- , I think for this price it is regardless which hand is on it.

I might as well just bring this up here, sorry for the Hijack...

This was offered in Germany some days ago, seller was asking 5,7k€.

Needless to say it was gone within minutes. But I managed to snap some screenshots. Curious to hear what the experts think.
I've never seen a Meister Ultraman, hands seem to be repainted .... lume is gone .... Meister text looks wonky too me...

Why would Meister of Zurich sell a watch related to a Japanese TV show?

Untill now I dont see an extract for a ultraman that was delivered to Japan.

If I remember right, it was offered for 7500.- Euro. For me it looks like a put together watch 145.012-67 with a 22mil serial::confused2::....and as we know, the ultramans are in a very small serial range and produced in June/July 68.
But the parts are worth a lot of money nowadays.
