1. That bezel is obviously a mix from 1st and 2nd gen bezel => fake


2. Ploprof have crown on the left (wrong date wheel on this one)

3. Case does look wrong, rebeveled ?

What do you guys think? A poorly refurbished or a pure fake improved with replacement dial/hand ?

 

I learned something today, Ploprofs came in two configurations. Here another rigth-crown model.

I have never heard of a ploprof with a right crown model, I can't see hour hand either

 

It is a dive watch. Bottom time is only kept in minutes

 

You can flop the orientation of the dial.

 

There is a rather long thread on the Ploprof that has many of the members watches on it and a fair amount of discussion on the left side vs right side crown. I will try and find that thread and post it below. The general consensus was that there was not a right sided crown ever left the Omega factory.

The dial can be flipped, but you need the part number for the new date wheel to get it to align.

 

Correct but Omega sold the date wheel as an option.

This is a watch from a family that they lost a hero in a war, he was a diver that the king gave him a ploprof for his medal, his family decided to sell this watch after 30 years
Watch was damage on the face so we refurbished it

LOL that's funny. I guess we rubbed him the wrong way. I love when people have such righteous indignation when they are questioned, makes them look silly.

BTW the ad says original dial and his message says its refurbished. So at a minimum this guy is a deceiver.

Thats nice. Very professional and polite seller. I did not know thats kings hand out PloProfs. This provenance adds up to the price. Could you ask which king it was? He would go really mad.
I think its okay to check if a watch is legit before you spend 4k.
