Is shark mesh a seasonal thing?

My wife says that the Omega shark mesh bracelet I currently have on my Watchco SM300 should be put in a drawer when fall comes. Like white clothing, only to be worn in summer. (We live in the northeast US where it is soon to become cold and grey.) Is she right?

She's right, no sharks no mesh :D
So it's time for a nice leather ( as she has given you a big nod to buy a new strap ::psy:: )

Nonsense. First of all, the SM 300 is not a dress watch. It is an all season sport watch. Your mesh is fine all year round.

Secondly Crocs and Gators can be about all year, so you need to be ready for any surprise tussle

Standy is obviously the smartest guy on the OF. What an opening he has pointed out.

OP tell her that you need a leather strap but the watch doesn't work with leather straps and then buy yourself a new watch

I do mildly see her point... if you live in cold weather a lot of people swap to leather for the comfort...

    As for style... not really.

I also mildly see her point, but for style reasons. The mesh is really shiny, and the winter weather is, well, not. But there's nothing more comfortable than the shark mesh! And it matches the SM300 very well. I wasn't aware of any "rule" so I thought I'd ask. Thanks for the input.

I don't agree with her, but you could always swap it over to rubber or a NATO if it makes her happier. Personally I don't like a diver on leather. You could also get an 1171/633 bracelet which is less shiny for the winter.

Me, I'm not having it, nor changing mine off shark mesh this winter.

To be honest I never thought about but I'll probably put the speedy back on leather from mesh soon once I stop sweating so damn much...

Not for me. In winter I wear long sleeves, so the watch stays warm.
