Does replating with gold depreciate the value of a watch ?

I mean gold plating a gold plated or a 18k watch is a bad idea?

I hope you understand what i am asking ::confused2::

No, actually I don't. ::confused2:: Why would you need to plate a layer of gold over top a solid gold watch? Give us more details on what you're trying to accomplish. If it's putting more gold back on a case to make it more crisp, plating isn't going to do it.

Just clean up the case. Don't plate it!

Why in heaven's name would you want to do that? Don't even think of doing it to the grand luxe!

i have seen posts here about re-plating a gold-plated watch where the plating has worn off. understand that.
find the idea of plating a solid gold watch very odd.
