Generally if you post it out in the open, if its is used for a non commercial purpose or educational purpose there is really no legal issues to use it. Welcome to fair use.

Politeness and etiquette states that you cross link or cite/thank the person that originally posted the picture.

As a side-tangent of this conversation, does anyone have a recommendation for how to put a watermark on photos with a PC? Ideally, I could reuse the same watermark for multiple photos going forward (not loosing font & format etc). I’ve burned through a stunning amount of time today trying to find something useful. Alternately, it could be an iPhone app that does the trick, preferably a paid version so my head doesn’t explode when 10,000 pop up ads litter the screen. Thanks in advance 🍿
