Is Catawiki a joke?

I think trying to get back the excess of 15 euros from that poor seller tells a lot about your eccentric character, and generalising that to all Italians is just pure racism - Italy is an awesome country and when it comes to watches, in my opinion the best source for low-key rares

Yes Catawiki is not perfect but reading about your issues made me better understand their decisions, you should take your advice and chill a bit yourself 😀

Minimally, definitely don't generalise and build a grudge for 10 euros

Whenever I've looked at watches on Catawiki for some reason they've invariably been based in Turkey ????

Catawiki is a treasure trove of garbage.... but.... every now and then... you'll find the needle in the haystack... basically to shop here you need some level of knowledge and expertise to ensure you get original pieces. Iif you're a beginner it pays to have a knowledgable friend or the Omegaforums community to help provide advice before purchasing. I bought this watch below this year from Catawiki, and it is the first one I have tried to win since 2020.

Hello everyone. Can someone please tell me what is the best thing to do in my case so as not to have problems?

I accidentally placed a bet of 45 euros (77 in total, including shipping and commission) and won (these were different mineral stones). After that, I tried to contact Catawiki by writing them a letter, but 4 days have passed and still no response. Then I read that you can wait several weeks for an answer.

I still have the option to pay the bet even though more than 3 days have passed (their website says payment must be made within 3 days). I read in the rules that if the product was purchased from PRO sellers, then you can return it within 14 days from the delivery date. But I don't see the point in them sending me the item and then having to send it back again to exercise my right to cancel within 14 days. At the same time, I don’t want problems with collection companies or the court (as stated in their rules) if they do something like this in a case where the bid was only 45 euros.

What do you think is the best way to proceed? Should I leave everything as it is, wait for Catawiki’s response, or pay, receive the package and send it back? Or is there another solution to this problem?

Perhaps my question is stupid, I apologize. I have no experience with auctions. Thanks in advance.

Just let it flow, don’t do anything

Edit: Also they reply to phones, but not too helpful either

Thank you.
So you think they won't do anything about me?

I'm not sure how you "accidentally" placed a bid, but personally, if I win an auction, I pay.

If you don't pay, it's possible that your Catawiki account might be cancelled, but I doubt there will be any other consequences.

Like I said, I can pay. But after I receive my item, I will refuse it within 14 days, as required by law. What's the point of shipping back and forth? It’s easier for me to pay a fee for an “erroneous” bid and not receive the item at all than to deal with shipping.

Did you notice that this is a watch forum? 🤨

After making the payment you will get the opportunity to send messages to the seller. You could then already tell him you plan to return it and make the bid undone.

Most sellers don't reply and just send the packages

This banknote is catalogued under Pick Catalog # 2. Why would the Catawiki "expert" allow such a blunder through his fingers? He does these kind of mistakes all the time and even if reported Catawiki ignores such complaints:
