Hello, Up for sale today is an obscure chronograph from the IPI Watch Co. I've spent some time looking for more information about them, but I've come to the conclusion that it is probably one of the numerous "emboiteurs" which cased Landeron, Venus and other Swiss movements back in the day. Still, what we have here is a nice piece with a beautifully balanced dial comprising of the three different bands, tele- and tachymetre as well as a minutes track. And, one has to simply love the quirkiness of the "Extra" on the dial! Side note: When I acquired this watch, I started a discussion on the forum to learn more about it. In that discussion it was determined (thanks to the collective wisdom of the forum) that the hands were not original to the watch. In my humble opinion, the replacement hands look harmonious with the dial and provide good legibility. Year: 1960s Movement: Original, Manual winding Landeron 39 Case: Original, 36mm without crown, chrome plated Crown: Replaced Dial: Original Hands: Replaced Strap: None Service history: Unknown.
