Hi guys, long time lurker here and decided to finally make an account. I believe this is in the right sub-forum to put it in, but if not feel free to let me know. I am from London and early in my collecting journey (about 3 years). I have gravitated towards Omega, and would be grateful of your opinions of the beginnings of my collection. After reading the amount of threads here on redials, re-polished and frankenwatches, I would like to make sure I have not erred already! I will start with the watch I am most sure about, and go from there, and for full disclosure I will put the price I acquired each at to see if I have significantly overspent.

The first is an Omega Geneve 511.0470 (I believe, I have not taken the caseback off this one). I am least concerned about this as it is my late grandfathers, who I never got the chance to meet. It is probably the single most important watch in my collection. This is a (admittedly not great) picture of it. I couldn't really care less if this was real or fake as it is the only connection I have to him.

The next watch was a watch a 21st birthday present from my parents. It was brought from a reputable online shop for just under retail, it is the Omega Speedmaster First Omega in Space, of course it came with box, papers warranty cards and everything. I love this watch. (Number 6320) 22471839_10155548584311885_1788769246_o.jpg

The next two watches were both brought off eBay, the first of which was brought from its original owner. It is a 176.007 in gold, it needs a service and unfortunatley I have not had the funds to be able to do this, as such I have not worn it yet. I paid £600 for it, I don't think I overpaid for it, but it is a little polished (although you can still see some brushing on the case) and one of the pushers has a little wear around the edge.

Lastly, is an omega De Ville 166.0094. Again, brought of eBay for (I think) about £300. Now I was told it was from an old watch shop clearing out stock, and so was never sold. It came with its hang tag. It is is excellent condition (I think?), I would like your thaughts on this one particularly. I have not open the case as I believe it is uni-shell and don't want to mess anything up!

And thats the lot (for now), Please let me know your thaughts/comments on what I have, and perhaps what to look at next.

Thank you for everyones time who has read this!! And all the help Omegaforums have provided me with so far from my time as a lurker!!

    Lucas.

Well you certainly did not overpay for the 176.007. Good score! You could have paid double that and still be happy.

The De Ville is a lot less collectable but it wasn't expensive and appears NOS, so if you like it, that also looks like a good buy.

Thank you very much for your input! I do really like the styling of the DeVille, but I am very aware it is not everyones cup of tea. In fact, I was considering posting it to the current thread on Omegas ugliest watches...

Congrats on your collection so far. I too am a fan of the deville, and in no way does it deserve a place on the ugly tree. You can pick up a bracelet or period correct strap later down the line. You certainly grabbed a bargain with the 176.007. I paid considerably more for mine although it was NOS and is in near perfect condition. You can see that it has a different dial but both dials are correct. Enjoy your watches.
