This just arrived. The case looks untouched and I dont think I would use my amateur hands to open it for now. Will try to get a movement shot later.

I think I came in 4th on this one. Nice pick-up... I might have some regret about not gouging you a little more;)

That's the Cuban coat of arms on the dial - very cool. I figured one of the many Miami aficionados might have scooped it up. Light up a Monte Christo and enjoy!

Very very interesting watch. Bumper movement? You can probably tell even without the movement picture just by "feeling" it on the wrist.
If it was mine though I would immediately change that bracelet to a leather strap: I like gold watches but I cannot stand gold bracelets :)
    But that is just me!
    Nice Ebay catch!

Very, very nice. I was looking at it too.

It must have been a very exquisite watch at the time to be chosen as a gift from the Cuban Navy Commander (José Calderón) to the Chief of Naval Operations of the US (Robert Carney).

My interpretation was that it's a Monodatic (cal 138C) with a special dial, eliminating the seconds subdial. The case reference was used for Monodatics.

I think we all had an eye on this one. Glad to see that it’s in the OF family.

Happy to learn more about it and see some nice pictures.

    I would second that.
