It is a 2998-62 and from the SN on or about 1962

Chrono seconds is replaced, but right type.

Not much difference between a -62 and a -6 like the one I have.

Well, I was thinking more in terms of buying the IWC from you, but if you insist in giving it to me, then let me pay at least for the shipping... :)

If you're refering to the pink gold capped cross hair dialed caliber 551 forget it. First off, I have dibs. Second, I've been after him to sell that to me for so long I gave up.

That's right - I gave up. Lou and Norm: there is hope.... just less because you guys have Longines pieces I want.

blah, who needs a 551 gold capped anyway.....speaking Longines...the case is ~33mm, overall very nice and with a clean dial, want to guess its fate? :(

33 bids with 3 days to go. It's already close to $5000. I think the bezels pretty chewed up. It has a lot of dents in it. The crown is not vintage. At least one of the pushers is not right (@4 O'clock). The movement looks O'K. It's not going to be a big bargain.

Probably getting a lot of Euro-bidding. Like you said this one is not shaping up as a bargain, but it does have the bracelet and I am sure that is part of the draw here. Buyer may hope to grab the bracelet, fix up the watch some and flip it back.

Not bidding but not suprised the price is already this high. The faults mentioned are not dealbreakers and I bet that bezel cleaned and photographed properly coupled with a new crystal and the correct pusher/crown will make this watch look much nicer. The key here is the inner caseback - how many service marks do you see? 1? It's an honest as found example - just as I want my watches to be.

The early bidding came to a halt. I think it'll go for ~$5500. Not a bad price. Not great either. I may throw in a low bid tomorrow at the end.

Bidding ended at $6,211 - still a reasonable price I think for the watch.
