Hey guys, quick question- I have never shipped int’l other than using USPS so this is new for me. Trying to figure out int’l shipping from US zip 21212 to Bavel Netherlands 4854 for a fellow member who wants one of the Bake sale watches but has had a bad experiences with USPS to his region. The DHL website wouldn’t give me a price so I called and they said to call my local UPS store. I called them and the kid couldn’t even spell Netherlands (no, not Neverland) and couldn’t bring up the zip in his system. UPS online calculator would only let me ship Express and the lowest quoted was $110!! USPS price was $24 which is what I would expect. What am I missing here?
UPS and FedEx will be much less, though may still be a large % of the watch price. USPS is pretty reliable in my experience, if a bit slower. Have sent more than once to the Netherlands with no issues.
Parcel Pro/FedEx from the US to most European destinations seems to be around $75.00 lately. I will only USPS Registered Mail out of the US which is around $30.00 and only for relatively low $$$ items and at my discretion over FedEx.
The reason you had trouble with DHL is that DHL has drastically scaled back operations in the US. You cannot use them to ship between US cities anymore. You can easily ship Europe to the US with DHL. But from the US, DHL will only ship to a few countries, mostly in Latin America. gatorcpa
