It depends on what kind of coverage you paid for, right? Brand new replacements often cost far more than the vintage version is worth, even when the vintage one is a desired collectible and worth good money. The real question is, how did the OP get new replacement insurance for such an old watch? I doubt you could get auto insurance that pays for a new Cadillac when you total your 1972 model.
