That is amazing. Thanks for sharing. My watchmaker, when I asked, said UG is a pretty straightforward Chronograph to service.

This is a Godsend.

My Evil Clatpon (technically not just a simple chronograph) needs to undergo service. I am sending it to my usual watchmaker, a very well-trained and talented individual who worked over 30 years for Rolex but was a bit intimidated at opening her up since he's never worked with UG before.

I will be sharing these with him and hopefully it helps.

See my comment above. If your guy can service a chronograph, he can do a UG. If he’s intimidated by chronographs, look elsewhere.

So as suspected, I took my Tri to a watchmaker who is ex-Rolex AD (30+ years) and can service anything Rolex including vintage and also any AP, but he just wouldn't touch the Tri and refused to open it. He did some tweaks to the open case back to realign the hands that's a workaround at best, but would not open the movement.

The date/moonphase pushers have become depressed and the watch is in need of service but I can't seem to find anyone willing to do it here (in Dubai).

Even the most well-regarded vintage watch dealer in the city (who is well-known for his vintage know-how and stock) refused to take it on....

I am now in a dilemma and it seems sending it overseas to someone may be the only thing left to do.

Any recommendations would be appreciated.
