Insane pocket watch with mother of pearl silver dial

Curious whether anyone with a bit of horological mileage has ever seen anything as crazy as the stunning Movado pocket watch below.
The dial has embedded mother of pearl, and saphires are encrusted in the white gold case.
By the way I’m not in cahoots with the dealer who owns it, since I appreciate him I’m trying to convince him not to sell it!

I always wonder why retailers only offer limited contact options. Not good to make maximum deals.... Maybe he is 25.😁 And needs some consulting.

Just for the record, I found on Ebay a very pretty 1920s ladies watch with mother of pearl on the dial. It is gold plated which is interesting as it suggests the mother of pearl was not necessarily a luxury.

However and on the Movado watch above it clearly becomes one, including with the numerals affixed to the mother of pearl instead of being painted.

Superficially beautiful, but am I the only one who finds the 3 index to appear somewhat inconsistent with the other Breguet indices? Also, what's with that noticeable gap on the exterior of the sub-dial? And the second hand being too short?

I don't know about the "3" but I agree the second hand is likely a replacement. Still a great looking watch and being so thin.

My wife has two mother of pearl watches and they just look amazing in hand.

As I understand, there are different qualities and the Movado also looks up there.

It’s really amazing how it shifts in the light.
