American Waltham Watch Co. made 2 different crystal movements. They were known as "Stone Movements" The model 1872 in the 16s size and a model in the 4s size. Of the 16s size 25 or lees were made and of the 4s size 100 or less were made. Which explains the high price. Depending on condition the 16s between $25k-$75k and the 4s between $20k and $45k. Way too rich for me but very scarce watches.

They're rare as hell because you don't need to drop 'em to break 'em, just a sharp tap will do. And those plates can't be repaired..... period.

So of the very few they made, a lot less survive.

They fall into the hen's teeth, rocking horse manure, honest politician catagory.....
