Inquiry: Two vintage pieces: a Smiths 30-sec. stop, and a ladies ~30’s wrist

Found these two, bought one. Wondering if anyone has an idea what the Smiths was used for; engraving on back perhaps an indication?

Then there’s this unbranded fixed-lug ladies silver watch running well, with a Eureka movement.. a pretty dial, and a design I haven’t ever seen. Anyone else?

Smiths maybe used in the military - several split seconds versions from various makers were over the years. Haven't seen one with that particular caseback markings though. Here's a Marathon example, unmarked on the back.

My guess is a school or??? Inventory number.

Neat 1/10th 30 second piece.

If it was issued I would expect to see a broad arrow. I have one in the same category with military provenance.

Took me awhile to figure out the reasoning for a 30 second stop watch. The size of the dial allows for much better precision and easier reading that with a 60 second per revolution watch, and the red inner markings allow one to time past thirty seconds.
I suppose the sub dial records minutes?

I suppose the sub dial records minutes?
Due to its tick rate it ticks 300 a revolution which gives 1/10 a second accuracy. The sub dial is minutes. A 60 second dial only gives 1/5 a second recording.

I have the exact same smiths in my little collection. Know nothing about it though TBH.
