Hello folks, So i found this vintage omega for sale and i am absolutely clueless. The seller claims it's functional but i am worried about the "missing" seconds hand is it normal? If possible i'd be grateful if someone can identify it or maybe tell if it is considered as a collector's item. Ps: it's a 17 jewel cal. 625 movement. Feel free to comment, any help is greatly appreciated
Not to be a dick, but did you google this yourself before posting? There's a ton of info if you search that calibre.
Forum member Archer (who's a Great certified Omega Watchmaker) did a small write-up on the dissassembly of a Cal. 625 here. Not the same watch face of course. https://omegaforums.net/threads/vintage-geneve.3715/
My interpretation is that the watch might be sized for a man's wrist, but the movement is rather on the small side for that size of case. Thereby, if there was a seconds hand on it, the watch would look out of proportion with the hand seemingly too close to the centre of the dial. But what do I know?
