Came across this SM300 this morning: http://forums.timezone.com/index.php?t=tree&goto=6886820&rid=0#msg_6886820 It looks OK to me for $3000, but I'd love some input from the more seasoned crowd hxw
Where's the caseback? The dial doesn't look natural to me. The case look polished, and personally I avoid all polished vintage watches
Something about the colouring of the tritium disturbs me as well. Looking at the Timezone ad. the case back has been heavily polished. If you are looking for one of these, this link will help to guide you through the minefield that is buying a SM 300. http://thatwatchandmore.blogspot.no/2013/03/buying-vintage-omega-seamaster-300.html
I was concerned about the dial myself. It looks "baked" for lack of a better word. I was aware that it had been polished, but if the dial is not original (or the seller is not clear on whether it has been relumed or not) it spoils the watch for me. Thank you for your input. (If anybody here is looking to sell a vintage SM300, I'm looking to buy one )
As others have said, at first glance and from a distance, that dial looks nice. Up close it's doesn't look right. Id be extremely surprised if it's original.
