    Hi,
I’m trying to identify and get an approximate value for an Omega watch my son has inherited.

I’ve been told It's a UK market gold cased Omega Men's Bracelet watch "De Ville" from the late 1980s, possibly with a quartz caliber 1300 series but any more info would be appreciated.

Based on the serial number, it's from c.1984. Approx. value...$100-$200.

Market value would be basically gold scrap value.

From the pics, the bracelet looks to be solid gold too, so at scrap value it would be significantly more than $100-$200.

Thanks all. That’s a shame to hear as I didn’t think any Omega would only be of scrap value.
It will be treasured anyway as a reminder of my late uncle.

Sorry I didn't get back to you in the other post Kenners.

It's a nice watch, just not as collectable these days, fashion is a cruel mistress.

The 1377 quartz movement was introduced as an ultra-flat caliber in 1982 and the 47 million serial numbers started in 1984, but I suspect your watch was produced a bit later than that as it's not a standard Omega case but one made as a special order, I can't remember whose mark it is though.

As there is a stamp "METAL" on the case, it signifies that the whole case is not gold, maybe just the bezel and caseback, so scrap value will not be much at all.

If you were to keep it, make sure to monitor the battery so that it doesn't leak into the watch, even remove it if it's not to be worn.

If it's going for sale, good photo's on eBay would be your best option with a low starting price and let the market decide.

While the collecting community may not have much interest in it, we aren't the only ducks in the pond and there are other people who will like the style.

    Good luck with it.

The metal stamp is on the movement spacer, those are usually brass but I would suggest that if there are as I suspect hallmarks in the clasp then rest of the case minus glass, movement, dial and hards is likely 9k gold. @BatDad I’ll buy similar from you at $200 all day long!

It’s worth scrap only but at over £11 per gram that scrap is valuable. I bet there is over 50g of gold in it. Maybe nearer 100g.

Yes - this is for the movement spacer only, and not an indication that the case itself isn't gold...

As noted, scrap value will be pretty significant, and certainly more than $200.
