I have inherited this watch from the uncle of my uncle - does it have any worth? How much could I get if I sell it?
Not a very high value - bracelet seems damaged near the case - hour markers are de-colorised (should be white) Is that flaking or is it mould? - the hands seem stained and have seen better days - the 'ring' around the 'glass': all the numbers have a nice dot next to it, apart from '90': don't know if that is right - not sure about the font: might be a redial, not sure - I personally do not like the round case with the flat and square bracelet: would replace it for something more appropriate - small hands on those small clocks also seem stained: I would replace all those things or look for a nice other watch - it is in the end a scruffy old thing: pass Hope this helps My2Ksh W
Agree with @Willem023. Unfortunately the lugs have been worn flat at the front, try comparing them with other specimens of the same model. That sort of polishing will render a watch worthless, I'm afraid EDIT: By "lugs" I mean those four metal things that stick out from the center of the watch. Sorry if you're new at this, as you can see there is a large specialised vocabulary in the watch world.
And calling @efauser: What have you found out yourself yet on the watch? Googled ‘vintage Omega with 3 small clocks’ and looked for serial numbers to date the watch? The amount of high res pics on this Forum is 1:1 correlated with the amount of / quality of the feedback you will get from its members. Most fun thing to hang around here is absorb knowledge as well as add to the knowledge already gathered by others. Like you. So study and add. Hope this helps (too) W
I agree, uncle watches are usually from the highway garage stops in Slovenia. This one has all the signs. Maybe cut your loss and I'll give you 100 for it.
Belive me there is not a lot of old dirty omegas with 3 small clocks in my country..... Op: I like your example, if you want to sell it come to Slovenia, I will meet you on highway
Whoops, sorry. I mean't Slovakia. I saw a roadside market area on the side of the highway and they had hundreds of Rolexes, Omegas and many other watches, I just didn't have enough currency to buy And both Slovenia and Slovakia are right next to Austria, so maybe the OPs Uncle's Uncle was a cross border traveller?
It's in pretty decent condition - just a few minor marks from regular bezel changes [I really should stop using the cleaver...]
Get yourself a avatar before you get given one like ( @cicindela can you put a Omega sign on the bun. )
I am really a bit disappointed about this low value ( I hope you are an honest person and your offer is fair!) because my dear aunty has told me he had bought it for $250.- in a shop called "Centre Boite" in 1966 - I have googled for this AD but unfortunately I was not able to locate this shop... And I have been told old clocks keep at least the value of the initial purchase price unlike the new watches. I am a bit confused now...
This only applies when the watch is in gold or silver. If yours is in silver, it might fetch the USD 100. If not, then you might be happy with what you are offered. My2Ksh
No need to be disappointed, I'll give you the $250, and because I have something in my safe that is of equal or more value, I' just do a trade.
I dunno; people are really working the market these days. @mac_omega , I would accept @JimInOz' offer right away if I were you. Methinks he is heavily overpaying... My2Ksh
I just hit me! I believe this watch was known as a Speedmaster. A prototype. Issued to compete for NASA's use in the space program, but lost out to Rolex Daytona I beleive? Was your uncle's uncle an astronaut?
Hi, all. I'm a new member and new to time. My uncle left me this piece and I would like to know the model and if it has any value. Also, could you tell me when time began?
@efauser: is there any reference on back? I think, your watch is for future, so it will start to begin timing on thursday 1.april 2022. So that mean your watch ist worthless till then. Send it back to uncle
Also your watch predates the helium valve aera... I am sure there is little to no helium left in there. You might get better prices for a refilled one!
