Hi, I am trying to make sense of the warranty card numbers associated with my watch. The problem is that none of the paperwork mentions the watch serial number shown under the lug. I know the paperwork is original to the watch, so perhaps someone more knowledgable can assist me in deciphering the numbers, particularly the meaning of 'watch no.325000' & 'Ref 173392931'. Thanking you in advance!

Hi Stewardmac1,

the reference of your SMP Chrono is 2598.80.00 and your watchnumber 48.621.836 as stated of the backside of the lug. So at least to me, this guarantee card doesn't belong to the watch. Only YOB 1996 could match with the watches' vintage.

Haven't seen a Ref# before that started with 3250.xx.xx. but could be something in the Speedmaster series since the "3" at the beginning of that ref. brought me to that, but not for sure.

Cheers,

Winny

Isn’t a 3250 a Speedmaster Reduced? And why is the serial number on the card 9 digits (instead of 8).

you say the paperwork is original to the watch. Is that because you were the original purchaser? That’s really the only way to really know.

in any case, it looks to me the original AD was pretty sloppy in marking the card - switched the lines for watch ref # and the serial # (and also added an extra digit for the latter). Wouldn’t shock me they put the wrong card with the watch.
