Hi there, I'm hoping someone could please give me any advice on a watch that has been left to my husband by an old friend. We are considering selling it, but were wondering where the best place would be to get an evaluation? I have attached some photographs below and would very much appreciate some ideas and information on this. The watch is an Omega, I have photographed the inscription on the back of the case. Regards Carol
Hi Carol, this is a so called Weems watch and is military (pilot) What makes the value drop is the fact that one of the crowns is missing and the rather "used" general condition. These watches are rather small compared to modern watches..., so limited market, mainly military collectors I guess. But there are buyers out there I think...
Hi, thanks for that, we were wondering what the 2nd twirly thing (lol!) was for! - not quite sure of the correct term for it!
Wow, wow! Love it, the bonklip bracelet too! These watches have been discussed previously on the forum. I´m sure the members who know them will respond soon
Hi martux, thanks for your positive comments! To be honest at first we thought the bracelet was a cheap replacement for the original as we had never seen one of these before! just shows what we know!
have a look at the JLC forum. one of the moderators had the gears and crowns re-manufactured and for sale. might fit the omega as well...... kind regards. achim
I would highly recommend posting at the Military Watch Resource forum here: http://www.mwrforum.net/forums/forumdisplay.php?2-Main-Forum&styleid=2 Those guys would know the most about this watch. Achim is one for the major contributors over there. gatorcpa
