Hoping someone can help advise me as to
Whether it is worth trying to repair my godmother's mothers watch From 1958. Note the wind button end is missing. If worth repairing any recs as to a good repairer in Sydney? Also Interested in what an appropriate wrist strap would be to wear it? Or if not repair could it be made into jewelry so not wasted? Thank you!!!

It isn’t possible for anyone else to advise you as to whether the Omega is worth repair, or not. Owing to the potential cost of a service plus parts to make the Omega wearable again, you could possibly have a broad range of choices in modern watches, and that could be a consideration. But if the watch is important to you from a sentiment point of view, servicing it might be the way to go. You need to talk to a watchmaker who is familiar with antique mechanical watches. Have them give you a quote, then you pretty much decide whether the watch is important enough to you to have it serviced. Cost of repair will be a lot higher than what you might recover if you were to decide to sell it.
