I just purchased an Omega Constellation, circa 1974, that has the Caliber 1012. In reading about it, some threads say the 1012 has hacking and date quick set. Mine has neither. My question is, were there variations of this movement, some having these features and some not, or do I need to take my watch in for repair?
    Thanks in advance,
    David

The 1012 should have hacking and quick set date. If you are sure that it's a 1012 inside, then yes something isn't right.

The balance stop lever is the parts that stops the balance wheel as the name suggests - it's made of plastic and it's possible someone forgot to install it or part of it is broken off. The quick setting date parts can have some issues in this caliber also - there were trade offs when this movement was designed to make it quite thin.

    Cheers, Al

Al, thanks for the quick reply. The watch is working very well and except for these two issues, I am very happy with it.
