This was my grandfathers, then my fathers, and now its mine, A Tissot Seastar chronograph, and it still works, wound it up and still keeps time. Needs a servicing the lower pusher doesn't work, but all in all in good shape.

Cool heirloom with a great movement. Same sweet "engine" as in the Omega Speedmaster "Moonwatch" 861.
Do have it serviced! It might just be passed on to the next generation some day as well! It looks to be fine, but overdue for some TLC.
And - wherever you are - do take it to a watchmaker with an understanding of vintage watches! (Ask around on this forum if you need recommendations, there are members in here from all over). The average "battery swapper" will most likely ruin it, and your wallet.....

Thank you for the great advice. I am definitely gonna do some research about how to get it properly serviced. I'm in NYC so there are a few choices. I was debating just going to tissot and getting a quote. I don't want to make it look new. Just get it serviced and working as it should. I like that it has the worn look

Shy away from ADs on this kind of watch. Post a request for service recommendations in NYC. Several members in NYC who are more than happy to share on their knowledge.
    Good luck, and keep posting!

I was unaware that it shared the same movement at the moonwatch. That's awesome.

I was more leaning toward the tissot corporate store, figure they would be a good place to start

I would not recommend to go that road. Both Omega and Tissot (same owners) are not known to take very good care of vintage pieces like yours. Independent vintage specialists would be my warm recommendation!

Ok. Thank you. Good to know. I'll do the appropriate research and post here looking for some advice.
It's my only vintage piece so I want to take care of it appropriately
I'm surprised it still runs to be honest. I wound it and just started right up

@Nobel Prize will advise and probably PM a good NY watchmaker when he sees this post.

Nice family history and nice watch..

I know an old Russian gent, very nice man and an old school artisan. He has looked at all my vintage watches. If he feels he can't work on your watch he'll probably say so. I've never taken a chrono to him but with his history I doubt he won't be able to. His name is Walter.

Other than that there are a few others I've never used. Maybe Aaron Faver can help as well.

Beautiful too, it really is a great watch. Got it repaired/serviced at the place Sergio(@Nobel Prize) recommended. And added a black nylon strap. Although I love ur strap.
I guessed the lug width at 16mm. But it might be closer to 18

Thank you. I am very happy with it

But forgot, he's a very good guy. Got the whole watch finished in less than a week, does amazing work. Would happily use him and recommend him in the future. Thank you for the wonderful advice
