Incoming grail! Many thanks MSNWatch for helping me make this happen! I'll let my watchmaker's pictures speak for themselves.... more to follow upon arrival!
Superb Golden Seamaster! I'd almost go a more weathered or rustic looking strap as it'll make the Seamaster look all the more perfect by contrast.
I spent ages trying to think of something to say about this, but all I can do is stare at it and shake my head. I might print it, cut it out and tape it to my wrist.
Thanks all for your great comments! Working on this project with my watchmaker was an amazing experience, and I wouldn’t have believed the outcome if he hadn’t sent me these photos! I am extremely lucky that he is a fanatic of these 168.023’s and very much appreciates the collectors passion to reveal the glamour of these beauties while maintaining their originality and desirability. All the credit goes to him for bringing her back to her former glory!
... also to tone down the yellow gold color of the watch since I'm not much of a gold watch guy....... HOWEVER..... because this is one of my grails especially in solid gold, I have been able to find this, true to the watch itself (1098/540 combo, unfortunately only in gold cap), and I am more of a metal bracelet rather than a leather strap person... what are your thoughts? or
